Getting About in Samui If you do not want to spend all your holiday lounging on the beach, then Samui is remarkably easy to get around - in fact a round trip by car or motorbike only takes about an hour. But you're better off taking a little longer and seeing some of the sight along the way. Jeeps, cars, motorbike and bicycles are all readily available for hire.   Public transportation are taxi-meters or Songthaews which is a converted pick-up truck.   The cost for Songthaews in the Chaweang area is Bht. 30 per person per trip.
