Bangkok has an excellent selection of spas and is a great place to try
out both favourite treatments which often have an innovative twist using
natural ingredients grown locally. Many hotels have spas and
there are also "tropical day spas" often in Thai houses with beautiful
gardens.
The Sivara Spa at the Amari Watergate Hotel, Pratunam
This urban paradise offers blissful treatments in a serene environment, right in the heart of the
city. Skilled therapists perform soothing treatments and a personalized service in
one of eight exclusive treatment rooms. These include three themed double
rooms, each of which have signature treatments. These rooms can also
be used for 'close to you' massages with a partner. The Mystical

The Oriental SpaThe spa offers a range of
innovative eastern and Thai health and beauty services that pamper and
invigorate guests in a luxurious atmosphere. The spa is located
opposite the Oriental Bangkok Hotel across the Chao Phraya River and can
be accessed by a brief picturesque boat ride.
Banyan Tree SpaThis is also a top rated hotel
spa, located on top of a high-rise building so not only the service but
the views are fantastic.
The Being SpaLocated in a traditional Thai
house on Sukhumvit Soi 49, you will enjoy a both excellent treatments and
a serene atmosphere.
Balavi Natural Health Center
This center offers 5 or 10 day course and includes treatments such as
detoxification. Besides the basic aerobic and muscle training
equipment they have both East-West body and mind training classes and
subconscious training. Located on 191/3 Soi Ranong 1, Praram 6
Rd. Samsennai, Phyathai.
Thai Massage
Wat Po the main centre for teaching traditional Thai massage and as
such is an excellent place to go for a massage. If you wish to
master this arcane art, a two-week course is run at the school costing

Buddhist Meditation
The headquarters of the World Fellowship of Buddhists is on 33
Sukhumvit Rd between Soi 1 and Soi 3 is the most convenient place to learn
about Thai Buddhism. Meditation classes are held in English
each Wednesday from 5:00pm -
8:00pm.
